Peaceful and Easy

Peaceful and Easy

We had our annual Retreat Day recently at St. Brigid's Villa at the Ignatius Jesuit Centre in Guelph, Ontario. It was fantastic! I hadn't been there before and it's absolutely gorgeous.

We soaked in the peace that is the core of all of us.

Our minds and bodies found deep relaxation and rest.

We started the day talking about and exploring the three principles of life and how once someone really "gets" how they operate, life becomes peaceful and easy. These are sometimes called the 3P's. You can learn more about this understanding in the world at http://www.3PGC.org, an organization dedicated to furthering these principles globally.

It's funny because I feel that I am constantly talking about and writing about the three principles and yet I couldn't find one blog post where I delineated or defined them directly. Perhaps it's a good time to do just that.

So, the 3Ps are an articulation of how the spiritual nature of life works (or simply - how life works) as fundamental principles. Elements that are always true for every human on the planet.

This articulation came out of Sydney Banks’ (a Scottish welder working in Nanaimo, BC at a steel plant) spontaneous enlightenment experience in the 1970's. It's currently used around the world in many organizations, NGOs, and corporations to help people live with more ease and peace, as we are designed to live.

For example, these principles are the foundation of programs in the UK prison system, school boards in the US, several private schools in Europe, mental institutions, and engineering firms. Many corporations provide training in these principles to their executives to be much more effective in their work and management. Many famous actors, professional athletes, some royalty, some doctors in the British public health system, many psychologists, social workers, and transformative coaches use this approach because of its radical effectiveness. Tons of projects around the world are helping people see the brilliance of who they are fundamentally with the 3Ps.

The three principles or 3Ps are Mind, Consciousness, and Thought.

Mind or Universal Mind is the intelligent energy behind all life. It's what grows an acorn into an oak tree and beats our hearts every moment of our lives. We are made of it (everything is). Our core nature is pure spirit or energy if you will. When people live from our inside-out nature, life gets ridiculously easy. It's the force of life itself.

Consciousness is our ability to be aware of ourselves beyond our bodies, beyond our psychology or personality. Lower access to consciousness is characterized by tension, stress, urgency, seeing only details. Higher access to consciousness is an expanded feeling, peace, a knowing, seeing a much bigger picture. Full consciousness is always available to everyone - we just don't always see it.

Thought is the energetic creative potential of the Universe. It's what we use to create our reality. It's distinct from thinking or personal thoughts. It's the unlimited and infinite possibility of creation available to us.

These three principles are essentially different functions or characteristics of the energy of the fabric of reality. Or said differently, the energy of life. We as humans interact with this formless energy to create our lives.

Each moment in life we are using these three aspects or principles to experience our lives. Whether we know about them or not, it's a description of how humans create, perceive, and navigate life.

Insights into the inside-out nature of life and our unlimited creative potential lead to peace and ease in life. Physical healing, dropping of addictions, joy, peace, and ease are common when people look in this direction and keep looking long enough.

The Retreat Day is a day where we deliberately look at different implications and aspects of these principles and enjoy the feelings of peace, ease, and ultimate safety that inevitably follow.

Our day ended sitting in silence with gorgeous live atmospheric music by Zac Perry (available soon on Spotify, stay tuned for that). It feels so good to tap into the expression of life energy that is you.

Life becomes peaceful and easy.
